Egypt Daily News – A new road accident on Saturday on the Regional Road in Egypt’s Menoufia Governorate resulted in the deaths of nine people and the injury of eleven others, just days after another accident claimed the lives of eighteen girls and their driver.
The Emergency Operations Room received a report of the incident, prompting the police and ambulances to rush to the scene. Preliminary investigations revealed a collision between two microbuses due to excessive speeding.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, followed up on the incident and ordered hospitals in the area to raise their state of readiness, ensure medical and emergency care for the injured, and provide psychological support to them and the families of the victims.
The ambulance authority dispatched 18 ambulances to transfer the injured to Al-Bagour Specialized Hospital. According to initial reports, the accident resulted in nine deaths and eleven injuries.
President El-Sisi had directed the government to closely monitor the maintenance and repair of roads—especially the Regional Ring Road and to ensure the rapid completion of repairs, along with the proper placement of traffic signs in construction zones.
He further ordered the immediate removal of any road hazards contributing to accidents and emphasized the importance of monitoring speed on these roads.
