The Presidency

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi spoke by phone with the Sultan of Oman, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq.

The Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, said President El-Sisi expressed Egypt’s support for the stability and sovereignty of the Sultanate of Oman and all the Gulf states under the current circumstances. The President underscored Egypt’s utter condemnation and rejection of Iranian aggression against Arab states. In response, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq expressed his appreciation for the President’s stance and for Egypt’s unwavering support for the stability and sovereignty of the Gulf states.

The President reviewed Egypt’s regional and international endeavors to de-escalate tensions and end the war at the earliest possible time and expressed Egypt’s appreciation and support for the mediation efforts undertaken by the Sultanate of Oman between the American and Iranian sides. The President reiterated Egypt’s vision of prioritizing political and diplomatic solutions to all the region’s crises. The two leaders agreed to maintain consultations and coordination to strengthen efforts aimed at de-escalation and restoring regional stability.

President El-Sisi stressed that Egypt and the Gulf states share a common destiny and unified national security, highlighting the importance of enhancing joint action to overcome the grave regional challenges and developments. This is in addition to activating the concept of collective Arab national security to protect the security, stability and sovereignty of Arab states.
