Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi spoke by phone with French President Emmanuel Macron.
The Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, stated that President El-Sisi expressed Egypt’s full solidarity with France following the wildfires that swept through some French regions recently. The President offered his condolences to President Macron for the victims and wished a speedy recovery to those injured.
President El-Sisi expressed Egypt’s full confidence in France’s ability to overcome this crisis and affirmed Egypt’s readiness to provide all possible support to France in dealing with it, wishing France and the French people security and prosperity.
President Macron expressed his appreciation for Egypt’s support , emphasizing that it reflects the deep-rooted, distinct relations both countries share. He looked forward to further strengthening the ongoing strategic partnership and maintaining the growing momentum in bilateral relations.
The two presidents discussed the latest regional developments as well as ways to achieve de-escalation, particularly regarding the war with Iran, in addition to the situation in Lebanon, Libya, and the occupied Palestinian territories.
They emphasized the need to resolve all conflicts through peaceful means to safeguard regional peace and stability. They agreed to continue political consultations and coordination between Egypt and France to promote peace in the Middle East. President Macron also inquired about the recent incident involving two ships in the port of Damietta, affirming France’s solidarity with the Egyptian government and people during this time.
