Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi attended a celebration marking Al Mawlid Al Nabawi (the birth of Prophet Muhammad) at Al Safwa Center for International Conferences at the Strategic Command Headquarters in the New Capital. The celebration was also attended by Speaker of the House of Representatives Counselor Hisham Badawi, Speaker of the Senate Counselor Essam El Din Farid, Prime Minister Dr. Moustafa Madbouly, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Dr. Hussein Eissa, His Eminence the Grand Imam Sheikh of Al Azhar Dr. Ahmed Al Tayeb, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production Lieutenant General Ashraf Salem Zaher, Minister of Religious Endowments Dr. Usama Al-Azhari, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, as well as a number of ministers and senior state officials.
The Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, stated that the celebration began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the screening of a documentary entitled “The Prophet Smiled.” Dr. Usama Al-Azhari then delivered a speech and presented the President with a collection of books on the virtues of Prophet Muhammad in various languages as a commemorative gift.
The celebration also included a religious supplication, followed by the screening of a documentary film on the importance of work. It also included a segment performed by Heba Magdy, whom the President greeted at the end of the segment and wished her a speedy recovery. The celebration also featured a religious chanting performance.
His Eminence the Grand Imam, Sheikh of Al-Azhar, Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb also delivered a speech followed by the screening of a documentary film entitled “A Good Example.”
President El-Sisi honored a number of scholars from Al-Azhar, the Ministry of Religious Endowments, and distinguished individuals on this auspicious occasion by awarding them the Medal of Sciences and Arts, First Class.

Your Eminence the Grand Imam, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif,
Revered scholars and imams,
Esteemed guests,
May the peace, blessings, and mercy of Allah be upon you.
Allow me, at the outset, to extend my sincere greetings to you all, to the great Egyptian people, and to the Arab and Islamic nations on the occasion of Al-Mawlid Al-Nabawi (the Prophet’s birth). I ask Allah—the Most Exalted, the Most Capable— to bring this occasion back to Egypt and the entire world with goodness, blessings, and peace.
Ladies and gentlemen,
Our celebration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (May the Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) is not merely a commemoration of the birth of the best of mankind. Rather, it is an invocation of the light and enduring legacy of the noble Prophet—sent by Allah to the entire world with an inspiring message that changed the course of history, leading humanity out of the darkness of ignorance and the pre-Islamic era of (Jahiliyyah) and into the light of guidance and enlightenment.
Divine praise was bestowed upon the possessor of the most exalted character—in the noblest testimony given to a human soul on earth: (And indeed, you are of a great moral character).
Our Master Muhammad (PBUH) embodied a noble character that astonished minds and inspired hearts. He was merciful when mercy was needed, generous when generosity was called for, and firm when firmness was required; he was gentle with the young, and respectful to the elderly. The Prophet was compassionate toward the weak, and caring toward the poor. He taught all of humanity to honor the human being and comfort the hearts of others, regardless of their religion, gender, or color.
Dear guests,
On our honorable gathering today, allow me to reassure you once again of the total vigilance of the Egyptian state—across all its institutions—regarding everything that pertains to our national security. I also affirm that we are sparing no effort to advance and develop the state in all fields, as we strive relentlessly and sincerely to improve the living conditions of our citizens.
I affirm that the Egyptian Armed Forces stand at the highest state of readiness and preparation to capably defend Egypt and its resources against any external threat. I am closely, directly, and continuously monitoring their levels of combat readiness and operational efficiency.
My focus has not been limited to our military institution, but extends to all other state affairs—aiming to improve conditions and implement root-cause solutions to accumulated problems inherited over decades, while continuously working to address any difficulties or shortcomings that arise in delivering services to our citizens.
In this context, I give my directions to the government to do the following:
1.Prepare a comprehensive report detailing the achievements across all sectors in the state over the past years. This report will be presented to citizens in October to highlight the extensive efforts made, the funds spent, and the outcomes achieved. Without the support of Allah and the will of the Egyptian people to continue reforms, we would not have attained our current stability amid a turbulent global political, economic, and security environment.
2. The need to closely and continuously monitor the compliance with contracts concluded with citizens—in connection with real estate projects—ensuring no delays in the delivery of units and the construction of the related infrastructure and facilities.
3. I direct the Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy to directly and rigorously oversee the electricity billing process, prevent arbitrary estimations, and facilitate the payment of outstanding balances owed by citizens—including considering options for paying arrears in installments—and to keep me continuously updated on the measures taken in this regard.
4. I reiterate my directives to the government and to the Minister of Supply and Internal Trade on the need to continuously regulate the markets, maintain ongoing field supervision, and expand initiatives as well as government retail outlets. This is in addition to establishing at least a single government retail outlet in every administrative center across the country to provide essential goods at prices that align with the purchasing power of all segments of the population and providing me with regular updates on what is being achieved on the ground.
5. I reaffirm the directives issued to the Minister of Transport on the necessity of completing all public transit projects within their designated timelines, installing proper signage, and continuously improving road conditions.
In this vein, and in light of the recurrence of painful traffic accidents, I direct the Minister of Interior for the Ministry of Interior to conduct continuous traffic enforcement campaigns to ensure strict traffic discipline on the streets across the country, apprehending violations, and swiftly taking legal measures regarding them.
6. I emphasize my previous directives to the Ministry of Local Development and the Governors on the necessity of on-the-ground monitoring, opening channels for direct communication with citizens, receiving complaints and inquiries, clarifying facts to them, facilitating services, identifying problems and working seriously to resolve them—while ensuring strict accountability for violators.
7. To every official in their post, I emphasize the importance of enforcing the rule of law with absolute resolve: ‘There is no place among us for the corrupt, nor any favoritism toward anyone who tampers with the rights of the people or compromises the resources of this great nation’.

Let us make the anniversary of the Prophet’s birth (PBUH)) a turning point—where the entire world sees the noble morals of the most generous Prophet reflected in the character of his followers.
Let us recognize that the elevation of the nation is built on mastery of work and noble character. These are not merely words to be repeated, but a mindset, a methodology of work, and a way of life. An advanced nation must just as it is sincere in its worship master and dedicate itself to its agriculture, industry, and the building of its civilization, while remaining forever fortified by knowledge and morals.
Peace be upon a birth through which light shone forth and darkness dissipated. Peace be upon the one commemorated today, who made respect for humanity a banner, mercy a supreme goal, and peace a path to the pleasure of the Lord of the Worlds.
