Egypt Daily News – The American soccer (football) club San Diego, recently owned by Egyptian businessman Mohamed Mansour, is making headlines as it may influence the future of star player Mohamed Salah with Liverpool. Salah’s current contract with Liverpool expires at the end of the season, and with no renewal in place yet, he is eligible to negotiate with other teams starting in January.
San Diego is set to join the MLS and is already considered the most expensive franchise in the league, having been established at a cost of $500 million.
According to “TBR Football,” Mansour is interested in financing offers for both Salah and Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne, viewing Salah’s potential move as a pivotal moment for football in the United States.
Since joining Liverpool from AS Roma in the summer of 2017, Salah has made a significant impact, scoring 217 goals across all competitions and ranking fifth on Liverpool’s all-time top scorers list.
In addition, the club’s first signing under Mansour is Mexican winger Hirving Lozano, acquired from Napoli and PSV Eindhoven for approximately 12 million euros. Mansour also runs an investment management company in London and co-owns the Danish club Nordsjælland, as well as the global “Right to Dream” academy focused on nurturing football talent.
