The Abu Dhabi Primary Court in the UAE sentenced the Zamalek trio to one month in prison and a fine of 200,000 dirhams for each individual in the trio.

He added that this decision came after the trio used force, violence, or threats against a public employee or a person assigned to public service with the intention of unlawfully compelling him to perform a duty of his job or to refrain from doing so, and they did not achieve their goal.

Does the prison term start from the date of arrest or from the date of the verdict?
Dr. Bati Al-Muhairi, a lawyer in the United Arab Emirates, said that the calculation of imprisonment days after the verdict is issued for the accused starts from the date of their arrest, if they were not released on bail after their arrest, meaning the duration will be calculated from the date of their arrest.

The duo Nabil Emad Dunga and Mostafa Shalaby, players of the first football team of Zamalek Club, will miss the team’s matches in the upcoming period, following the decision to imprison them due to the events of the Pyramids match in the semi-finals of the Egyptian Super Cup.

According to the ruling, the prison term will end on November 20, and thus the duo will miss the matches against Al-Ahly Bank scheduled for next Friday, November 1, in the first round of the league, and the match against Smouha in the second round scheduled for November 8.

The league will then be paused due to the national team’s camp, and the team will resume its matches in the Confederation Cup on November 23 against Al-Masry Al-Portsaid. Therefore, the duo will only miss the matches against Al-Ahly Bank and Semouha.
