Egypt Daily News – Egypt has demanded clarification from Israel over a shooting incident that targeted the Egyptian ambassador in Ramallah, Ihab Suleiman, during a visit with a high-level diplomatic delegation to the city of Jenin in the occupied West Bank.

According to Palestinian media, the delegation, which included ambassadors from various countries, including Egypt came under fire from Israeli soldiers while touring Jenin to assess the situation amid the ongoing Israeli military escalation in Palestinian towns and cities.

The visit was organized by the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and included heads of diplomatic missions from several nations.

In an official statement on Wednesday, Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the incident, describing it as a clear violation of diplomatic norms and expressing its outright rejection of such actions.

The ministry called on the Israeli side to provide full clarification regarding the circumstances of the event.
