Egypt Daily News – Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly announced that the New Delta project spans an area of approximately 2.5 million feddans, equivalent to the size of four to five Egyptian governorates. Speaking on Sunday during the launch of the “Jaryan” project at the Cabinet headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, Madbouly emphasized that the New Delta represents a major leap in Egypt’s development plans, combining agriculture, urbanization, tourism, and industry into a comprehensive vision.

The prime minister described Jaryan as the first real estate project within the New Delta and a strategic public-private partnership. He praised the signing of investment contracts for the new city, saying it marks a significant step toward reclaiming and utilizing desert lands flanking the Nile’s branches, thus maximizing the value of national assets.

Madbouly explained that the city will not only support Egypt’s urban expansion but also serve the broader goals of sustainable and integrated development. “With creative, non-traditional ideas, we’re adding great value to these desert lands and achieving economic returns that will benefit the country,” he said.

Addressing concerns that the project targets only upper-income groups, the Prime Minister clarified:

“On the contrary, the city is expected to create 250,000 direct and indirect job opportunities, and it is part of a larger urban system that will include towns and villages catering to all income levels, especially youth and middle-income families.”

He stressed that the project is aligned with Egypt’s broader development goals, including capitalizing on proximity to the Grand Egyptian Museum and the Giza Pyramids, just 10 minutes away. This, he said, strengthens the project’s tourism potential alongside its real estate and logistical components.

Dr. Madbouly reaffirmed the government’s open stance on partnering with the private sector across all fields, especially in real estate development and tourism services, citing Jaryan as a model of what such cooperation can achieve.

In closing, he said:

“The New Delta is a revolution in urban and developmental planning by all standards. Once completed, it will be like building five entirely new governorates in the Egyptian desert, a clear sign of Egypt’s promising future.”
