Egypt Daily News – President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a phone call today with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar.
According to the spokesperson for the Presidency, President El-Sisi expressed Egypt’s strong condemnation and categorical rejection of any violation that compromises the sovereignty of the State of Qatar. This comes in the wake of recent Iranian attacks targeting the Al Udeid Air Base. The President also praised the wisdom and prudence of the Qatari leadership in handling the crisis.
Presidential spokesperson Ambassador Mohamed El Shennawy added that the call included commendation from President El-Sisi for Qatar’s military capabilities, particularly the effectiveness of its air defense systems in countering the Iranian offensive, emphasizing their crucial role in safeguarding the security and sovereignty of the brotherly nation.
The conversation also included an exchange of views on the latest regional developments in the Middle East and ongoing peace efforts. This included discussions on the ceasefire between Iran and Israel, as well as continued close coordination between Egypt and Qatar aimed at achieving de-escalation and a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
