Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates on Wednesday strongly condemned recent statements by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in which he expressed his commitment to the so-called vision of “Greater Israel” a concept that includes territories beyond Israel’s internationally recognized borders, potentially encompassing parts of Jordan and Egypt.

In a statement, ministry spokesperson Ambassador Sufian Qudah described Netanyahu’s remarks as a “dangerous and provocative escalation” that represents a blatant threat to the sovereignty of nations and a clear violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.

“The Kingdom firmly and unequivocally rejects these inciting statements,” Qudah said, adding that such rhetoric reflects “delusional and reckless fantasies” that will neither undermine Jordan nor the Arab world, nor strip the Palestinian people of their legitimate, inalienable rights.

He further noted that the timing of the comments, amid Israel’s ongoing military actions in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, points to a deepening political crisis within the Israeli government and growing international isolation.

“These dangerous claims promoted by extremists within the Israeli government only serve to fuel further violence and conflict in the region,” Qudah warned, calling for a unified and firm international stance against such rhetoric. He urged the global community to condemn these remarks and hold those who promote them accountable for their impact on regional peace and stability.

The spokesperson also called for immediate international action to halt all forms of Israeli incitement and unilateral measures that jeopardize the security and stability of the Middle East and threaten international peace.

Jordan’s condemnation comes amid heightened tensions in the region, with repeated warnings from Amman against any attempts to alter historical or political realities, particularly those relating to the Hashemite Kingdom’s borders or the status of the Palestinian territories.
