Egypt on Monday issued a strongly worded statement condemning what it described as systematic Israeli attacks and warning that the rapidly escalating military confrontation across the Middle East risks pushing the region toward widespread instability.

In a statement released by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cairo stressed the need for full respect for international law, international humanitarian law, and the principles of the United Nations Charter, which prohibit the targeting of civilian facilities and infrastructure during armed conflicts.

The ministry said the ongoing escalation, which has seen attacks on civilian and oil installations across several countries, represents a serious threat to regional stability and could lead to what it described as “a state of comprehensive chaos” if tensions continue to spiral.

Egypt reiterated that attacks against civilian infrastructure constitute a clear violation of international humanitarian law and a grave breach of the principles governing military operations.

At the same time, Cairo condemned an Iranian attack targeting a residential complex in the Saudi city of Al-Kharj. The Egyptian government expressed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia as well as other Gulf and regional states affected by the widening conflict, including Iraq and Jordan.

The statement reaffirmed Egypt’s support for the security and stability of Gulf countries and rejected any Iranian attacks against them, stressing the importance of protecting civilian populations and infrastructure throughout the region.

Cairo also renewed its strong condemnation of Israeli military operations amid the current escalation, particularly those affecting Lebanon. Egyptian officials said the ongoing hostilities have contributed to the displacement of more than 600,000 Lebanese civilians, describing the humanitarian consequences as deeply alarming.

Egypt reiterated its full support for Lebanon and rejected what it called repeated Israeli violations of Lebanese sovereignty. The government also condemned Israeli practices in the West Bank, including land confiscations and settlement expansion, which it said represent a blatant violation of international law and international humanitarian norms.

The Egyptian government concluded its statement by urging all parties involved in the conflict to exercise restraint and avoid further military escalation. Cairo emphasized the need to prioritize diplomatic solutions and dialogue over confrontation in order to preserve regional and international peace and security.

The statement comes amid one of the most volatile periods in the Middle East in recent years, as tensions involving Israel, Iran and several regional actors continue to intensify, raising fears among diplomats and analysts of a broader regional war that could destabilize multiple countries across the region.
