Trump and Harris campaign

Egypt Daily News – The Arab American Political Action Committee (PAC) stated that it will not support U.S. Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris or her rival, former Republican President Donald Trump, attributing this to their “blind support” for Israel in the wars in Gaza and Lebanon.

The upcoming American elections scheduled for November 5 will be the first in which the Arab American Political Action Committee has chosen not to endorse a candidate since its establishment in 1998. And the committee usually supports the Democrats.

Polls show that the race between Harris and Trump is close. The majority of Arab and Muslim Americans supported President Joe Biden in the 2020 elections, but they are criticizing Washington’s support for Israel, which has led to a decrease in their support for the Democrats.

Trump did not receive significant support from this community due to his previous statements and policies, which included imposing a travel ban targeting predominantly Muslim countries when he was president. He is also a staunch supporter of Israel, like Harris and Biden.

Analysts said that Harris’s chances in the elections could be harmed if Arab and Muslim Americans do not vote for her or vote for a third candidate.
