Egypt Daily News – Politico reported that European leaders will discuss, in a meeting with Vladimir Zayanskyy, sending European Union forces to Ukraine. It indicated that European leaders are planning to meet with Zelensky in Brussels, to discuss peace plans and the possible deployment of peacekeeping forces in Ukraine.
Politico added that the meeting, which will be held on December 18, will be attended by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, French President Emmanuel Macron, Polish President Andrzej Duda, European Council President Antonio Costa, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and the Secretary-General of NATO. Reuters reported earlier that the event, which will be organized by Mark Rutte, will take place on the same day that the leaders will also meet at the European Union and Western Balkans summit in Brussels, and will include a joint meeting and a number of bilateral meetings with Zelensky.
Earlier, the media office of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service stated that the West will deploy the so-called “peacekeeping squad,” consisting of 100,000 members, to restore Ukraine’s combat capacity, as the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service believes that this “will become an effective occupation of Ukraine.”
The Kremlin believed that the deployment of peacekeeping forces was possible only with the approval of the parties to a specific conflict, and the Russian Foreign Ministry also indicated that “the West’s plans to introduce military units into Ukraine are a provocative step and reveal the intention of Western countries to delve deeper into the confrontation with Moscow.”
