President El-Sisi Meets Angolan President to Discuss Key African Issues

Egypt Daily News – President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Angolan President João Lourenço on the sidelines of the 7th Mid-Year Coordination Summit of the African Union, held in Malabo, the capital of Equatorial Guinea.

According to the official spokesperson for the Egyptian Presidency, President El-Sisi praised Angola’s current chairmanship of the African Union and commended its commitment to strengthening joint African action across various sectors.

For his part, President Lourenço expressed his appreciation for President El-Sisi and acknowledged Egypt’s pivotal and longstanding role on the African continent and within the framework of the African Union.

Ambassador Mohamed El-Shinawy, the presidential spokesperson, noted that the meeting focused on issues of peace and security across Africa. The two leaders discussed the situations in the Horn of Africa, Sudan, the Sahel region, and the Nile Basin, emphasizing the need to consolidate stability throughout the continent.

The talks also covered ways to enhance bilateral relations and explore broader avenues of cooperation in various fields. Both sides underscored the importance of building on the current momentum in their relationship to fulfill the aspirations of their peoples for prosperity and development.
