Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it launched a new wave of attacks targeting sites inside Tel Aviv, as the conflict between Israel and Iran continues to expand across multiple fronts in the Middle East.
In a statement, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said the strikes targeted “specific Israeli objectives” in the city, describing them as part of a broader response to recent military developments in the region. Iranian officials did not disclose the precise nature of the targets or the extent of damage resulting from the attacks.
Israeli air defense systems were activated as missiles and drones approached the country, with authorities instructing residents in several areas to seek shelter while interception operations were underway.
Hezbollah’s Ambush
The escalation was not limited to the Israeli-Iranian front. Fighting also intensified along the Lebanese theater, where fighters from Hezbollah reportedly carried out a carefully prepared ambush against Israeli troops in the Bekaa Valley.
According to regional media reports, Hezbollah fighters set what appeared to be a trap for Israeli forces during an attempted airborne operation near the town of Nabi Sheit. As Israeli troops were inserted into the area, Hezbollah units launched an attack on the force, triggering intense clashes.
The ambush reportedly left several Israeli soldiers wounded, prompting Israeli aircraft to move into the area to evacuate casualties. During the evacuation attempt, Hezbollah fighters targeted Israeli aircraft that were trying to extract injured troops from the battlefield.
Israeli aircraft responded by firing heavily into the surrounding area in an effort to cover the evacuation and suppress Hezbollah fighters involved in the attack.
The incident marks one of the most direct battlefield confrontations between Israeli troops and Hezbollah fighters since the current escalation began. The Bekaa Valley, located in eastern Lebanon, has long been considered a stronghold for Hezbollah and a key logistical corridor for the group.
Military analysts warn that the combination of Iranian missile attacks on Israeli cities and growing clashes with Hezbollah in Lebanon could push the conflict into a broader regional war involving multiple fronts.
Iran-backed armed groups across the region have previously signaled that they could join the confrontation if Israeli strikes against Iran continue. With Israel already conducting operations in several theaters, including Iran and Lebanon, the risk of further escalation remains high.
International concern is mounting as the conflict intensifies, with diplomats warning that the expanding hostilities could draw in additional regional actors and significantly destabilize the Middle East.
