Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi spoke over the phone with President of the Republic of the Congo, President Denis Sassou Nguesso.

Spokesman for the Presidency Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy said President El-Sisi extended his congratulations to the President of the Republic of the Congo on securing a new presidential term in the elections held in March 2026. President El-Sisi noted that this victory demonstrated the Congolese people’s confidence in his leadership to continue efforts to achieve development and prosperity.

President El-Sisi confirmed that Egypt seeks to further enhance joint action with the Republic of the Congo to strengthen bilateral cooperation in a manner that fulfills the aspirations and advances the interests of the two brotherly peoples, adding that it also hopes to continue bilateral coordination at the regional and international levels.

For his part, President Sassou Nguesso expressed his deep appreciation for President El-Sisi’s congratulations, affirming his country’s commitment to further developing relations with Egypt across various fields. He also lauded the fraternal bonds the two countries and their peoples share.

The two presidents discussed a number of regional and international issues, emphasizing the vital need to resolve conflicts facing several African countries through peaceful means, in a manner that preserves their peoples’ resources and respects their sovereignty, and that helps create an environment conducive to achieving progress and prosperity.
