Egypt Daily News – The UN Secretary-General António Guterres confirmed that civilians in Lebanon are paying a heavy price for the conflict.

He clarified that the situation in Lebanon is going from bad to worse. He also condemned the Iranian attack on Israel, affirming that the cycle of violence in the Middle East must stop.

He went on to emphasize that Lebanon is witnessing a deep economic and political crisis, accompanied by a deterioration in basic services and an exacerbation of poverty and unemployment. Concerns are growing about the worsening situation, especially in light of the political crisis and the inability of political forces to reach solutions to the crisis.

The warning from the UN Secretary-General serves as a wake-up call for international countries, urging immediate action to provide support to Lebanon and cooperate in finding peaceful solutions to the current crisis.
