Egypt Daily News – President Joe Biden warned the residents of Florida that Hurricane “Milton” threatens the state with the greatest destruction in the past 100 years.
Biden told reporters at the White House on Wednesday that “Hurricane Milton is currently classified as a Category 3 hurricane, with wind speeds of 120 miles per hour. But don’t be misled, as this hurricane is still expected to cause the most destruction in Florida in over 100 years.”
Biden indicated that the hurricane is expected to hit Florida on Wednesday evening local time, which could lead to “massive destruction.”
He added that the hurricane “can destroy buildings off the face of the earth and lead to casualties.” Biden reported experts’ predictions that wave heights on the Florida coast will reach 4 meters.
He pointed out that evacuation operations are difficult at the moment and urged residents to listen to the recommendations of local authorities and seek safe havens.
The National Hurricane Center had previously reported that the strength of Hurricane “Milton” had decreased from Category 5 to Category 3 on the Saffir-Simpson scale.
