The Presidency
This evening, Cairo time, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi participated in a joint telephone call that brought together leaders of several Arab and regional states along with President Donald Trump, President of the United States of America.
Spokesman for the Presidency Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy said the call included the President along with King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein; King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa; President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; President of the Republic of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan; Amir of the State of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani; Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud; and Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir.
President El-Sisi and the leaders participating in the call reiterated their appreciation and commendation for the efforts undertaken by the President of the United States and the relevant parties to reach an agreement to end the war with Iran and to restore security and stability in the Middle East. They called upon President Trump to continue those efforts and his wise leadership in order to achieve lasting peace and sustainable security in the region and the world.
The President’s participation in the call demonstrated Egypt’s efforts to promote regional peace and stability and advance a comprehensive and sustainable agreement between the United States and Iran. This would end the current tensions and prevent renewed escalation in the region. President El-Sisi stressed the importance of seizing the current opportunity to reach a comprehensive agreement through negotiations. The President affirmed that Egypt would provide all support to facilitate these negotiations, in coordination and cooperation with its brotherly nations.
Furthermore, the President emphasized the need to utilize the available diplomatic window to reach a peaceful settlement to maintain both regional and international peace and stability.
During the call, the leaders engaged in in-depth discussions regarding the latest regional developments. President Trump expressed his appreciation for the visions and efforts of President El-Sisi and the leaders and their commitment to coordinating positions with the United States. He emphasized the importance of further enhancing political cooperation and coordination between the United States and the countries of the region.
For their part, the leaders stressed the importance of maintaining regional peace and stability, discussed enhancing effective engagement to contain tension and prevent escalation, and agreed to intensify political consultations in support of diplomatic efforts to restore peace and stability in the Middle East.
