President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is set to host UAE President H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Cairo on Monday for talks expected to focus on bilateral cooperation and the rapidly shifting political landscape in the Middle East following the announcement of a US-Iran peace agreement.

The Egyptian presidency said H.H. Sheikh Mohamed’s visit comes within the framework of the close strategic partnership between Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, with the two leaders expected to review ways to deepen cooperation across economic, investment, and development sectors while exchanging views on regional and international issues of common interest.

The summit takes place at a pivotal moment for the region, as governments assess the implications of a newly announced agreement between Washington and Tehran that calls for an immediate and permanent cessation of military operations after months of escalating conflict that threatened to draw multiple countries into a broader confrontation.

For Egypt, the development reflects a diplomatic approach Cairo has consistently advocated throughout the crisis. Egyptian officials have repeatedly warned against further escalation in the Middle East, emphasizing dialogue, political solutions, and respect for state sovereignty as the only viable path toward long-term stability.

Regional security is expected to feature prominently during the Cairo talks, with both Egypt and the UAE closely monitoring efforts to translate the ceasefire agreement into a durable political settlement. The two countries have maintained regular consultations throughout the recent period of heightened tensions, coordinating positions on several regional crises and supporting initiatives aimed at preventing a wider war.

The meeting also highlights the growing depth of relations between Cairo and Abu Dhabi. Over the past year, President El-Sisi and Sheikh Mohamed have held multiple discussions focused on strengthening strategic cooperation and expanding economic partnerships between the two nations.

Their latest in-person meeting took place in Abu Dhabi on May 8, when President El-Sisi traveled to the UAE amid heightened regional tensions following Iranian attacks targeting Emirati territory.

During those talks, the Egyptian president reaffirmed Egypt’s full solidarity with the UAE, describing the attacks as a violation of international law and stressing that the security of the two countries remains closely interconnected. The leaders also reviewed opportunities to increase trade and investment flows and discussed developments across several regional conflict zones.

Later in May, President El-Sisi and H.H. Sheikh Mohamed joined US President Donald Trump and a number of Arab leaders in discussions aimed at supporting diplomatic efforts between Washington and Tehran. The participants expressed support for negotiations designed to reduce tensions and restore stability across the region.

Monday’s summit is expected to build on those discussions as Egypt and the UAE seek to consolidate regional calm and explore new avenues for political and economic cooperation at a time of significant geopolitical change in the Middle East.
